The History of the Jews

During the academic year of 2011-2012 the Institute will present a thirty-week course, "The History of The Jews," taught by Bruce Thompson, Ph.D. on Thursday nights. During the first quarter of our academic year of study together, we will examine the history of the Jews in the ancient world. We will continue in the Winter Quarter to study the history of the Jews in the medieval and early modern periods. In the Spring Quarter, we will turn our attention to the history of the Jews in the modern era.

Bruce Thompson holds the positions of Lecturer in History and Literature and Associate Director, Center for Jewish Studies, UCSC.
