During the academic year of 2010-2011 the Institute will present a thirty-week course, "The History of France," taught by William H. Fredlund, Ph.D. on Tuesday nights. During the first quarter of our academic year of study together, we will examine the Celts, the Romans, the Christian missionaries, and the great feudal monarchies. We will ask how each of these contributed to the formation of France. We will continue in the Winter Quarter to study the Renaissance and Reformation. In the Spring Quarter, we will turn our attention to Versailles, the Bourbon monarchs, the French Revolution, and Napoleon.
