Lingua e Cultura Italiana - Summer 2012

We are pleased to offer conversational Italian language instruction at the Institute. The objective of all the courses is to offer quality classes in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, providing students with an authentic approach to Italian culture and language. The courses will help students build and expand their vocabulary and converse in Italian. The teaching method will include group exercises of reading, writing and dialogs.   These classes will be especially beneficial to individuals who are planning to travel to Italy, or those who are just wishing to enjoy Italian culture.

Italian Instructors at the Institute: Gilda Borrelli and Cristina Brocchin.


Gilda Borrelli was born and raised in Sorrento, Italy and studied in Naples. She has been teaching Italian in the bay area for ten years. She has a Degree in "Foreign Languages and Literatures", a Masters Degree in "Methods and techniques to teach a foreign language" and a Masters Degree in "Translating a literary text." Gilda lives in Los Altos with her husband Gianluca and their two sons Massimo and Paolo.

Cristina Brocchin was born and raised in Vigevano, Italy, a small town near Milan. She received a law degree from the University of Milan. She has been teaching Italian in the Bay Area since 2004 when she decided to move to California with her husband Giuseppe. Cristina lives in Sunnyvale with her husband and little daughter Anna.
