French Classics
Five French films will be shown in February and March, as part of the continuing History of Film series of events.

Feb 5: Vivre Sa Vie (Goddard, 1962)
Twelve tableaux explore a Parisian woman's descent into prostitution. Directo: Jean-Luc Goddard. Actors: Anna Karina, Sady Rebbot, André S. Labarthe.

Feb 12: Belle de Jour (Buñuel, 1967)
A frigid young housewife decides to spend her midweek afternoons as a prostitute.
Director: Luis Buñuel. Actors: Catherine Deneuve, Jean Sorel, Michel Piccoli.

Feb 26: Amelie (Jeunet, 2001)
Amelie, an innocent and naive girl in Paris, with her own sense of justice, decides to help those around her and along the way, discovers love. Director: Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Actors: Audrey Tautou, Mathieu Kassovitz, Rufus.

Mar 5: Bon Voyage (Rappeneau, 2003)
An Actress, a writer, a student, and a government worker band together in an effort to escape Paris as the Nazis move into the city. Director: Jean-Paul Rappeneau. Actors: Isabelle Adjani, Gerard Depardieu, Virginie Ledoyen.

My Best Friend (Mon meilleur ami): (Leconte, 2007)
Unlikable François hires a charming taxi driver to teach him the art of friendship in order to win a bet with lovely Catherine. Director: Patrice Leconte. Actors: Daniel Auteuil, Dany Boon, Julie Gayet.
